The Gower was the first area in the UK to be designated an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956.

From The Mumbles, you will continue on into the Gower AONB, where you will be taken to some of the best beaches in Wales. As you are driven through the Gower you will feel like you have been transported back in time. You will pass through quaint little villages and see stunning landscapes. Around every corner is another view to take your breath away
Arriving at Rhossili Bay in the early afternoon, you will initially be greeted by views across the beach. Here you will have the opportunity to walk out along the cliff tops towards Worms Head, at the headland. Or descend the cliffs on to the beach itself, where you can see the remains of the Helvetica Shipwreck, which was stranded on the beach during a storm in the late 19th Century.

Rhossili Bay marks the furthest part of the tour, and on leaving Rhossili, you will begin your drive back to Cardiff.
On the way back, there may be the chance for a couple of additional stops, before leaving The Gower, and heading back to Cardiff.
King Arthurs Stone sits on the Cefn Bryn ridge, near the summit of the ridge which is the 2nd highest peak on the Gower. Legend tells that whilst marching through Carmarthen, King Arthur had a stone in his shoe. Annoyed by the discomfort, he removed it and threw the stone, which landed 7 miles away on The Gower. Having been touched by the hand of King Arthur, the stone grew as it flew through the air.
Archealogical evidence suggests the stone is a capstone of a neolithic burial chamber dating from 4,400 BC.
Regardless of its origins, King Arthurs stone provides near 360 degress of breathtaking views across the Gower.
If there is time, the final stop of your Gower Tour is Weobly Castle
More fortified Manor House, than fully fledged Castle, built in the early 14th Century. Weobly Castle is located on the north side of The Gower Peninsula with views across the Loughor Esturary and Llanrhidian saltmarshes.

- The weather at Rhossili Bay can be windy, even on warm sunny days. We therefore recommend a jacket, or something to protect from the wind is worn on the day. This can be left in the car if not needed at Rhossili Bay
- There is an entry fee for Weobley Castle that can not be purchased in advance and so this will need to be paid on the day, should you wish to visit the Castle. There are no other entry fees for any other stops on this tour
